Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using UmmahArmy. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using UmmahArmy ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2Eligibility
To use UmmahArmy, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a valid UmmahPass account
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
- Not be prohibited from using the Platform by applicable law
3Account types
3.1Soldiers
Soldiers are individual users who complete missions posted by Ameers. By registering as a Soldier, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your skills and availability
- Complete accepted missions according to instructions and deadlines
- Communicate professionally with Ameers
- Accept the strike and suspension system for quality control
3.2Ameers
Ameers are representatives of organizations who post missions. By registering as an Ameer, you agree to:
- Represent a legitimate organization
- Post missions with clear, accurate requirements
- Provide fair compensation for paid work
- Review submissions in a timely manner (within 14 days)
- Treat Soldiers with respect and professionalism
4Mission system
4.1Mission Types
The Platform supports three types of missions:
- Paid Missions: The Ameer pays for the work by card, in one payment or in milestones. The Soldier's share is added to their UmmahArmy earnings
- Volunteer Missions: Soldiers earn UmmahPoints for their work
- Social Boost: Soldiers participate in social media campaigns for instant points
4.2Deployment
Missions are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. Some missions may require minimum rank levels. By deploying to a mission, you commit to completing it according to the stated requirements.
4.3Hiring responsibilities and performance
UmmahArmy operates as a marketplace connecting individuals offering services and skills (“Soldiers”) with individuals or organizations seeking to hire them (“Ameers”). Soldiers operate independently and are not employees, agents, or representatives of UmmahArmy. While we provide platform features to facilitate connections between users, we do not independently vet or verify every Soldier’s identity, qualifications, experience, character, conduct, or suitability for a particular Mission.
Soldier ranks reflect their platform activity and previously completed work, in accordance with UmmahArmy’s ranking criteria. These ranks provide an indication of a Soldier’s past contributions but do not guarantee the quality, reliability, or timely delivery of future work or the outcome of any Mission.
Ameers are responsible for conducting their own due diligence, communicating directly with prospective Soldiers, assessing their suitability, and deciding whether to engage their services. Ameers should not rely solely on a Soldier’s rank or past performance when making hiring decisions. UmmahArmy does not guarantee any Soldier’s conduct, performance, or delivery of agreed-upon work. By engaging a Soldier through the platform, Ameers acknowledge that they are responsible for their own hiring decisions and for evaluating the risks associated with each engagement.
5Payments and fees
5.1Platform Fee
UmmahArmy charges a 20% platform fee on paid work. It is taken from the Soldier's share, and the Ameer pays no fee on top. On $100 of paid work, the Soldier's share is $80, added to their earnings when the work is approved.
5.2How payments for paid work are taken
An Ameer can pay for a paid mission in one payment, from $5. An Ameer can instead split a paid mission of $100 or more into 2 to 5 milestones when approving a Soldier's claim. The Ameer pays for each milestone by card. An Offer order without milestones is charged in full at checkout. The card is charged when the payment is made. This replaces the earlier card hold: a payment is now taken before the work is approved, and cancelling no longer releases a hold.
UmmahArmy receives the payment. We do not keep payments in a separate trust or escrow account. The Soldier can deliver a milestone only after it is paid for. When the Ameer approves the delivered work, UmmahArmy adds the Soldier's share to the Soldier's earnings. If the Ameer does not review it, UmmahArmy approves it 14 days after delivery; a revision request or a dispute stops that count. Earnings clear 7 days after approval.
The Soldier can then ask for a withdrawal.
How a Soldier is paid. A Soldier chooses how to be paid: Stripe, PayPal, Wise or Payoneer. Stripe is the default. A person at UmmahArmy sends a PayPal, Wise or Payoneer withdrawal by hand. We do not send it automatically. UmmahArmy does not send payouts by bank transfer. PayPal, Wise and Payoneer may charge you their own fees to receive or withdraw money. UmmahArmy takes no extra fee for sending it.
5.3Refunds
Either side can cancel a milestone that has not been paid for, and no payment is taken. The Soldier can cancel a paid milestone before delivering it, and UmmahArmy refunds the full amount to the card it was paid with. An Ameer who wants a refund on a paid milestone asks the Soldier to cancel it, or opens a dispute. Our admin team decides every dispute. A dispute can end in payment to the Soldier, a full refund or a part refund. No dispute is decided automatically.
6UmmahPoints
UmmahPoints are a rewards currency within the UMG ecosystem:
- Points are earned through volunteer missions and Social Boost
- Points can be redeemed across UMG platforms
- Points have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money
- Points expire 24 months after last activity
- We reserve the right to modify the points system at any time
7Rank and strike system
7.1Ranks
Soldiers progress through ranks (Talib to Khalifah) based on completed missions and earned points. Higher ranks unlock access to more difficult missions.
7.2Strikes
Strikes are issued for rejected work or low ratings:
- Rejection: 1 strike
- 1-star rating: 1 strike
- 2-star rating: 0.5 strike
- 3 strikes: 30-day suspension
- 5 strikes: permanent ban
8Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Misrepresent your identity, skills, or organization
- Submit plagiarized or fraudulent work
- Harass, abuse, or discriminate against other users
- Circumvent the Platform to avoid fees
- Use automated tools to access the Platform
- Post content that is illegal, harmful, or offensive
- Engage in any activity that damages the Platform or its reputation
9Intellectual property
Upon approval and payment, Ameers receive full rights to work product delivered by Soldiers, unless otherwise agreed. Soldiers retain rights to their pre-existing materials and portfolio samples.
10Disclaimers
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE QUALITY OF WORK, AVAILABILITY OF MISSIONS, OR CONDUCT OF USERS.
11Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, UMMAHARMY AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM.
12Dispute resolution: binding arbitration and class action waiver
Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights.
Disputes between users are first handled by our internal dispute resolution process. Any dispute, claim, or controversy between you and Ummah Media Group LLC arising out of or relating to these Terms or the UmmahArmy Platform shall be resolved exclusively through final and binding arbitration administered by JAMS under its applicable Arbitration Rules, conducted in San Bernardino County, California, rather than in court. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Class Action Waiver. Each party may bring claims only in an individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative proceeding.
Exceptions. Either party may (a) seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property or confidential information, (b) bring an individual action in small-claims court, or (c) exercise rights that cannot be waived under applicable law (including the right to file a complaint with a consumer-protection or data-protection authority).
Opt-Out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to legal@ummah.army within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
13Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
14Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may also delete your account at any time.
